4x4 Off Road in Colorado Mountains - Atha Team BlogIf you like to take your Jeep or other off-road vehicle out and about in the wild, you’re probably always looking for new 4×4 trails to explore. Fortunately, living in Colorado doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the opportunity for outdoor activity and off-road trails. Here are four of the best trails to travel.

Colorado State Forest

Looking for moose or other wildlife? You’ve come to the right place. With 50 miles of trails to check out, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get close to nature and there are a lot of other activities to get involved with, too. The best part? It’s only three hours from Denver.

Red Feather Lakes

Near Fort Collins you’ll find trails to enjoy, and fields full of wildflowers to appreciate. A 23-mile stretch called Deadman’s Road is among the most popular and challenging of the trails, with a couple of spots that will test your abilities and your sense of adventure. Visiting in the summer is best.

Off Road 4x4 Trail Driving in Colorado - Atha Team BlogWagon Wheel Trail System

There are more than 250 miles of trails in this system, offering anyone who likes to spend time off road the chance to get right into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. There are easier and harder trails, so you can choose the kind of adventure you want to have and still see some great sights.

Ophir Pass

This is an easier trail than many, and a big part of the Alpine Loop. From this trail you can see plenty of others, so if you’re a beginner or you want a trail you can relax and enjoy, this is a great choice for both views and driveability.

Whether you’re looking for outdoor recreation options on the Front Range, or you’re thinking about buying real estate on the Western Slope, to live in Colorado is to get out and explore the beauty that nature can offer. If you’re not an outdoor enthusiast now, the odds are high that you’ll end up being one if you buy a home in Colorado. Whether it’s your full-time home or a vacation spot, finding nearby trails can give you the chance to really get out into nature and enjoy all it offers.
